Twinkle toes

Zoe has been in dance this year. She had her year end dance recital and I must say that little kids dance recitals are adorable!  Little like herding cats, but cuter. When I figure out how to put pictures on with my phone then I'll add them here. She loved dancing with her "friends."

The little finger mishap

I received a text from my babysitter while at work a few weeks ago with the picture of a red swollen finger saying Finn was crying and she didn't know what to do. After talking with her for a bit I told her just to bring him in to my office. One of my colleagues ordered an x-ray and lo and behold, the first broken bone in my household! I've never had a broken bone. He was still crying in the hour it took to pack everyone up and get to my office, but he settled down pretty quickly once I held him. One perk of the day was that I was able to be with him the whole time. My patients for that hour didn't show up. Now he's in a splint for 6 weeks. He's had it on for almost 2 weeks and he hates it when I change the bandage. I'm hoping he'll let us take it off when we get to 6 weeks!

Spring has sprung

I love spring! All the bushes and trees have little buds on them. The crocuses are in bloom. I can't wait to see what color of tulips I'll have this year. And the promise of new life. Bring it on!

"hum" drum cereal

Today I poured the kids each a bowl of cereal for breakfast. As I sat down to eat my own bowl, I was serenaded with a chorus of humming. Finn has taken to humming while chewing lately and since Zoe has to copy whatever Finn does, she has too. It made me smile. I love the simple things!

Mission calls

So the youngest of our older boys got his mission call today. We went up to his house to watch him open it. Quite the production if you ask me. He is going to the New Jersey mission and will be going to the MTC in Mexico on June 25th because it is the Spanish speaking mission. We are so excited for him! He's such a wonderful kid :).

Tid bits and scantily clad

Just a couple of pics that I wanted to keep somewhere.

First we have Lagoon. Finn absolutely loved the boat ride and the car rides. He would have driven them all day long if we'd have let him. Zoe did okay but she was exhausted and fell asleep before we even made it to the freeway when we left at 8pm. What a trooper!

And since I didn't take pictures on my camera of the wedding, this is the only one we have of the temple so far. Congratulations spencer and Sarah! I love young love :)

And last, scantily clad is of my baby, no one else. So, no worries about viewing these pics. Zoe loves water and it's always scary to let her take a bath because she is either trying to put her face under water to blow bubbles or lay back and get her head under water. Aargh! And she's a slippery one! But at the end of her last bath, she was laying down in the last dregs of water in the tub trying to put her hair in the water when I got the camera out. Unfortunately she chose that moment to stand up so I only caught this picture instead. But it's still cute. And there's some "sass" just because.

Finn started preschool today 9/4/2013 at the Speckled Frog preschool.  He goes to class Monday and Wednesday from 9-11:30 and Friday from 9-11.  I can't believe my baby boy is old enough to go to school.  I'm so proud of him!  And for potty training mostly on his own the week before school started too!
